Granadilla, Passionfruit
Passiflora edulis
The granadilla or passionfruit flower is a delight to the eye. Here in Denmark you can grow passion fruit in the greenhouse, and you can even get ripe fruits. This picture is showing a flower on purple passionfruit.
Passionfruit is a vigorous climber. If you have limited space in your greenhouse you should consicer purple passion fruit as this type is self pollinating. Other types are self incompatible. They require foreign pollen and therefore more plants.
No matter which type you choose, the flowers are wonderfull.
