Cardoon is a rarely grown vegetable. Maybe bacause it takes one very large plant to supply the family with garniture for just a meal or two.

But you have to try it. It´s delightful to look at. If you don´t have space for it in the kitchen garden, don´t bother. It fits just as well in the ornamental garden. This cardoon photo was taken while the morning haze was dripping from the beautiful leaves.
