Anu is a handsome creeper that procuces beautiful edible tubers. Anu is a well-known crop in the Andes, where it is concidered one of the most important crops next to potato, oca and ulluco.
Anu is a vegetable, but just as suitable in the ornamental garden as in the kitchen garden. The taste of raw anu is rather strong, reminding about black pepper and radish, but still a lot milder than most black radishes.
